Welcome to Rights of Minorities
This website is being designed to give an easy access and a specific focus to the rights of minorities, concentrating on papers and presentations related to the Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities (FCNM). It is currently work in progress.
In due course when complete, it is intended to supplement the valuable websites of a range of bodies, including intergovernmental bodies, specialist organisations and designated websites. It provides an easy portal to a range of these important sites.
This site will be unique as it includes a set of unpublished papers, presentations and reflections made by Alan Phillips (Former President of the Advisory Committee on the FCNM 2006-2010). In due course this may also include presentations and papers made by members and former members of the Advisory Committee.
Access to the postings is via “Categories” and the subheadings although all entries are consolidated within “All Posts”.
The photo is of the bridge in Mostar that physically links the Croatian ethnic community with the Bosniac ethnic community; it was deliberately destroyed during the war. Consequently the rebuilding of the bridge was symbolic; however it has taken much longer to rebuild strong relationships between the two communities.
